  • Men's and women's coats / jackets
  • Hoodies, jumpers, thermals
  • Blankets and sleeping bags (good condition)
  • Toiletries (travel-size is great)

Please avoid

  • Used underwear or heavily worn items
  • Broken zips, ripped seams, stained clothing
  • Single shoes / incomplete pairs

A national plan to end homelessness

A new cross-government plan sets out practical actions to prevent homelessness and reduce rough sleeping — including targeted support for people sleeping rough long-term and expanded supported housing.

More funding for homelessness prevention (2025–26)

Councils in England received a major uplift to the Homelessness Prevention Grant for 2025–26, with a stronger focus on prevention work (helping people before crisis hits).

Extra rough sleeping support — including working with charities

Government announced additional funding for rough sleeping prevention and recovery, with some funding aimed at strengthening partnerships with voluntary, community and faith groups.

131,140 households were in temporary accommodation in England at the end of March 2025 — the highest on record.
