"SPEAKEASY"

Does the thought of talking to your children about sex and relationships worry or confuse you?

Do you feel anxious or embarrassed when your children ask you questions about their bodies, growing up or sexual behaviour?

"Speakeasy" is a course that is approved by the Family Planning Association (FPA).

Its aim is to help parents to find ways of talking confidently to their children about sex and relationships in a way that is age-appropriate and clear.

The course is put together in a way that is fun, relaxed and informative and it's aimed at parents or carers with children of all ages.

Subjects looked at on the course include:

The course can lead to an accreditation with the Open College Network (OCN) for those who are interested.

"Faith in People with HIV"  ran a very successful "Speakeasy"  course in 2008, as a result of which 9 participants obtained an OCN accreditation. (Well done to you all!)

We hope to repeat the course in 2009 if there is sufficient interest.
